It's  agreat pleasure to read you . It's  a fact that Grant sent general Philip Sheridan as an "observer " to Von Moltke and that Sheridan  behaved much more than an observer
! When French civilians partisans began to attack the Prussian army , he advised the Prussian general staff to use the same punitive methods that were used by the Union armies against civilians
from the confederate states : collective reprisals ( executions without trials  ) , burning farms , ...
